The following assessments take into account a variety of the above stated learning styles.
1. Pre-test – The students will match each vocabulary word with its definition.
2. Vocabulary Illustrations – The students will be required to draw illustrations of the vocabulary words to show their meanings.
3. Ticket out the Door (Synonyms) – The students will be asked to provide synonyms for the words of the week as a form of review.
4. Creative Writing – Students will be instructed to assume the role of a news reporter covering the eruption of a volcano. The students were told to use each of their vocabulary words to describe volcanic event. Each student presented his or her story to the class.
5. Jeopardy! Game Review – The students will divided into teams and use the rules for the popular game show to review. These are the following categories that will be used: Antonyms, Synonyms, Word Parts, Sentences, and Analogies.
6. Post-test – The students will match each vocabulary word with its definition to indicate any improvement from the pre-test.
